The Court Reporting Institute of Dallas was founded in 1978 and is presently the largest court reporting school in Texas. For more than 20 years, the Court Reporting Institute of Dallas has consistently trained and produced professional court reporters in Texas and throughout the nation. In 1983, CRID became the first private court reporting school in Texas authorized to award an Associate of Applied Science Degree in court reporting, and since 1984, CRID's court reporting program has been approved by the National Court Reporters Association. In January 2005, CRID became a part of Vatterott Education Centers, Inc. Vatterott Education Centers, Inc. operates over 18 colleges in the United States and presently offers programs from the diploma level to the bachelor's degree level.
