History in Dallas

1978
Court Reporting Institute of Dallas began as a court reporting program inside of a college called the Fashion and Art Institute of Dallas.

1980
The court reporting program received approval from the National Court Reporters Association.

1983
The Fashion and Art Institute is sold and the court reporting program becomes its own stand-alone college called the Court Reporting Institute
of Dallas.

1985
College becomes first private career school to be granted the authority
to award an Associate of Applied Science degree by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

1990
CRID moves into brand new 30,000 square foot facility in the Twin
Towers complex on I-35 Freeway.

2002
CRID opens a sister campus in Houston, Texas.

2005
CRID becomes a part of Vatterott Education Centers Inc.

2006
CRID launches a 100% online court reporting program. School was relocated to 1341 W. Mockingbird Lane
